Have you heard the latest?

Posted by Kate at April 27th, 2006

Apparantly some of our genius Senators have come up with the idea to give everyone $100 dollars to go toward helping with the high cost of gas.  In exchange for this money we have to be willing to let the government drill in our Arctic refuge.  It absolutely angers me to no end that we are missing the whole freaking point of our problem.  We are dependant on fuel that not only will eventually run out but on it’s way to it’s death is taking us with it.  So what’s our solution?  I don’t even know why I’m suprised…the quick fix of course…give everyone $100 dollars…a couple tanks of gas.  That will make everyone happy…then maybe they’ll vote for us in the future.  Whoever votes for this is off my Christmas list.  And my November ballot.

Love Will Keep Us Together

Posted by Kate at April 16th, 2006

We had a new quote book entry today.  Felt I should share it with the world because maybe it’ll make you laugh too.

Leon: Come on Tenille!
Kate: Why am I Tenille?

Leon: Because I’m the Captain.

Rise and Shine

Posted by Kate at April 10th, 2006

I took an opportunity while Sophie was napping to go out into my gardens and clean them up for the coming blooms.  I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since I planted the gardens this past summer.  I’ve been anxious to see how my hard work last summer has grown and spread and I was not dissapointed.  Pulling away the dead leaves and rampant weeds I found one bud after another, parents and babies starting to reach for the sky.  I wondered last year as I was planting if the desire to keep up with my gardens would remain or if I would lose interest after such a long winter break.  Well, my desire has only grown and I can’t wait until after Mother’s Day when I will start on yet another garden to nurture and love and find next spring waking up from its long winter nap.

Springtime For Sophie

IMG_2752.JPGHow sweet she is.  Although in this picture she looks like she’s ready to stab me…but damn she’s cute.

It gets better and better.

South Park rocked my world the other night.  Actually it was last night for me cause I tivo’d it.  If you missed the episode try to find a rerun because it was genius.   I don’t want to give anything away for those who plan on seeing it so all I will say is this.  “It’s wrong.  It’s wroooong!”  (Imagine in Cartman’s voice)   And one other thing.  I find it interesting that the people whose opinions I most relate to and perhaps the most intelligent discourse on debates going on in our world is on a cartoon…with lots of fart jokes.

There are two kind of people in this world…

Posted by Kate at April 5th, 2006

About a week or so ago I sent out an email to all my friends asking them to send an email to Canada’s Prime Minister to stop the clubbing of baby seals, an annual hunting event for fur. One of the friends I sent this to was my husband who usually ignores my various bleeding heart emails, so you can imagine my surprise when I received an email back saying, “Let’s stop those seal clubbing bastards!” Later that day I thanked him for joining me in the fight and told him how surprised I was. And he put it like this, “I just had to ask myself: For clubbing of baby seals? Against clubbing of baby seals? I’m going to have to go with with against.” After we were finished laughing we further decided that there are two kinds of people in this world. And I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this. What kind are you?

Freakin Idiots!

Posted by Kate at April 3rd, 2006

And I’m one of them.  Yesterday I drove down to my folks house with my husband and daughter and unborn child.  As I’m getting back into the car after stopping at the gas station, “Where are my sunglasses?  I just had them!?  Um, yeah, on my freakin head.”  Fastforward a couple hours later, leaving my folks house, “Mom!  I left my keys inside, can you get them?”

“They’re not here dear.”

“No kidding?  Cause they’re in my freakin hand!!!!”  No Joke.

Rewind a half hour and my husband and I are leaving the movie, The Inside Man and he has to explain the ending to me.  Not only that, but it wasn’t until I was lying in bed last night, trying to sleep that I finally figured out what the hell was going on with the characters in that movie, I totally had it wrong.  Great movie by the way, once I freakin figured it out.
